Honey bee nucs

We lost everything winter of 2021 - 2022

Contact about Bee Queens in the spring.

Overwintered in Michigan for at least 2 years.

These are not transported south.
  • Some will be the standard 5 frame deeps with a late summer 2021 queen, workers, brood, stores and 5 drawn frames.
  • Some will be 8 drawn frames with the same as above but with more bees and stores.
  • If you have an 8 frame box this is all you need.
  • If you have a 10 frame box I can supply 2 more frames with foundation for $3.50 for each frame.
  • If you need a complete setup the total cost with a 10 frame hive and bees would be $TBA.00 You will need to purchase a second deep very soon after getting them home.

I am NOT taking Deposits. This is a first come first serve, but I am taking reservations.
These are strictly Michigan survivor queens (minimum of 2 years in Michigan winters), they were not transported south for the winter.
I will know more in March how many Nucs have survived this winter.
Options:
  1. Standard 5 frame in a plywood nuc box ($TBA.00): will be 5 drawn frames with stores/bees.
  2. 8 frames ($TBA.00) - you supply the box or purchase new hive from me.
    These are 8 drawn frames, will have more stores and bees in them compared to the standard 5 frame.
  3. 2 additional ($8.00) frames with foundation to fill a 10 frame box.
  4. For the 8 frame nucs you will need bring your complete hive the day before so I can place the frames and bees in them that night. Ready for you to pick up the next day.

  5. If you want to only make 1 trip I can supply 1 single deep box with inner cover, Telescoping cover and screened bottom board with slide out for an additional $70.00, Additional Boxes are $21.00 each plus $3.50 per frame with Ritecell foundation. If you need the equipment I will need to know as soon as possible and that will take a 50% deposit and 2 weeks notice.

Guide for 8 frame nuc pickup
  • you must bring your box the day prior to pick up.
  • you must have straps to hold the box together.
  • Boxes must be in good condition to contain bees - no escape.
  • Entrance Cover Screen - You can supply, or I will supply (at extra cost) a screen to keep the bees from flying.
    • Robber screen cover $12.00 (this can closed to stop the bees from flying.)
Transport and home:
  • On a warm day they must be kept cool.
  • Be prepared to feed them when you get home.
