Weeding & putting Trellis in the fields

The past couple of days we've continued weeding the garlic, and begun major weeding in the vegetable fields too.  We spent a couple of days putting in tall metal stakes to run 6 foot plastic mesh trellising for the small pumpkins, cucumbers and gourds.  We still have a bunch of trellis to run in the pumpkin patch.

So much weeding, so many 150 foot rows of isle with weeds and rows with weeds.  Arggg.

Positive note:  the greenhouse is pretty much empty . . . except at the end with the Luffa Gourds growing.

They are getting tall and big vines fast.  We see about 100 new luffa gourds.  How exciting.

Hello, my name is Linda Rickert.  I will be "trying" to keep a journal of the garlic farm.  A place for us to review what has been happening here on the farm.
